Strange…I’ve Seen That Show Before

I remember a time when most modeling troupes looked different, had their own sense of style and presentation. Then, around 2007, the creativity of the performance modeling world began to mutate, and not in manner to survive as organizations. No, this mutation was like that of a living creature exposed to dangerous levels of radiation. The radiation, though, was the hive mentality that fueled itself on the rise and winnings of various competitive titans, and their dominance in the consciousness of their rival performers and defeated adversaries. Those who lost, instead of looking at what the judges said about their music, fashion, or lack of energy, instead copied and made replica of those who beat them.

It just disgusts me to see folk change their entire presentation to mirror “the winners” and blow away the diverse point-of-view that was once present in the arena. Of course, if you weren’t around to view the scene pre-2007 then you wouldn’t understand; and don’t get me wrong, I love evolution, but only when it benefits. This assimilation of style and mode of apparatus does nothing but create an army of organizations that have the same walk, same music genre, same ideas about fashion, same props, and it becomes a bore.

There’s no more magic because it went from Grandma’s home cookin’ to McDonald’s processed, artificial ingredient infused goop. But some of you love McDonald’s, its MSG keeps you from having to do work, like preparing an actual meal and going to the bathroom . Grandma’s home cookin’ gives you the runs and just takes too much time to prepare, don’t wanna miss an episode of the Bad Girls Club in the process! *gasp*
